Friends & Family,
East Africa has always held a special place in my heart since traveling there for the first time in the early 2000s with Engineering Ministries Int’l (eMi). I had the opportunity in 2005 to help eMi open an office in Kampala, the capital city. During that time I dreamed of going back with a future husband and family. In 2008, Tony and I had the opportunity to take a small team to serve Edward & Christine Isingoma, our church’s ministry partners in Hoima, Uganda. And this summer 20 years later that dream will come to full fruition! In June, I have the incredible opportunity to lead a team to support three of our church’s ministry partners in Uganda AND Evy and Carr are going too. Honestly, I can’t believe I am writing this letter. The dream of traveling to Africa to serve with my husband and children is happening!
We had the opportunity to host our partners, Edward and Christine in our home twice over the last 10 years when our church brought them to the States and now we get to serve them in their home country. We will also serve alongside Ann Kieser, another Grace missionary working with Serge in Bundibugyo. And have the opportunity to visit two schools supported by Knickers for New Life, a partner organization of our church. Our team includes our family, 3 others from Grace and the Director of HELPS ministry, the organization that administers support to two of our Ugandan ministry partners.
During our time in-country we will support Ann Kieser (Serge), Edward & Christine Isingoma (New Life Church & Primary School) and visit Knickers for New Life schools. Evy and Carr have each shared more about how we will serve while in Uganda.
In Evy’s words…
In June, we will be going to Uganda Africa, and we will need support for the many things we intend to accomplish during this trip. During these two weeks, we will be working with Edward and Christine Isingoma who have been a part of the Grace family and have come to the US twice in my lifetime to support us. We will also be working with Anne Kieser and supporting her and her work, as well as HELPS which is connected to Knickers for New Life that supplies hygiene products to girls in the Ugandan area who might not have any otherwise. We will also be doing a vacation bible school for the children to share the love and joy of the Lord. I am very excited to be able to see another beautiful culture and be able to share the Lord with these children. With your support, we will be able to have access to a local radio station, schools, and other useful resources to help these fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. We ask for your prayers and financial support to make this trip happen and be able to share God’s mercy and riches globally.
In Carr’s words…
This summer we will be traveling to the African country of Uganda and will be needing support for all the amazing things we intend to do. During this trip we plan to do many great things like going to some of the schools in the country, we will be spreading the great word of the Lord and talking with some of the students and teachers. We will also be talking on the radio with one of our missionaries in Uganda. Another thing we will be doing is visiting the local churches and talking to some of the pastors and people who attend the church. Thank you for all the support you give us.
In Tony’s words…
I had the opportunity to first visit Uganda in 2008 with Grace. It was an amazing experience to come alongside our partners, Edward and Christine Isingoma, and see firsthand how our efforts here at home were being used and multiplied by God. We have had the privilege of hosting Edward & Christine twice since then, and I am excited to be able to visit them and see how much more God has blessed them and their ministry. I am also looking forward to visiting with our own missionary, Ann Kieser, and to see, in person, the stories she has brought back to us at Grace. Being able to do this with Evy and Carr will be a grand adventure and I look forward to seeing how God will bless them through this experience. Any support you are led to provide will go a long way in this opportunity.
