Ajaan Goi was raised in northern Thailand in the village of Baan Khon, located in the southern part of Chiang Mai province. He was part of a Christian family that saw the hand of God on the life of Goi from an early age. When Goi was about one year old he developed a lung infection that could not be cured by the shaman in many local villages, costing Goi’s family great expense. Finally out of desperation they asked some Christians to pray for their son and he was healed. From that time Goi’s family decided to follow and serve the Lord.
Goi first met his wife Nadnapa at a youth camp in Omkoi as a teenager. They met again seven years later, and talked about their futures and possibility of marriage. Three years later, Goi married Nadnapa in 2014. God has blessed them with two boys, Joshua (6) and Cheetah (3), and they are expecting their third blessing in March 2022.
When Goi was 16 years old, he spoke with God and was willing to go to seminary if the pastor suggested he should go. However, the pastor never spoke to him about seminary, so Goi pursued his BA in Business at Chiang Mai University. Ten years later, he again asked God if he should go to seminary and did not get a clear answer. Finally after five more years of waiting on the Lord, Goi sensed God’s leading and started to attend New Sky Bible Seminary of Thailand, located in Chiang Mai.
Ajaan Goi has been attending seminary for almost three years, and hopes to graduate at the end of next year. He has been assisting in a Thai-speaking church plant with English missionaries since 2018, and in 2020 was appointed as the pastor of the church when the missionaries returned to their home countries.
Ajaan Goi has been doing gardening work and tutoring Rob in Thai to help meet the needs of his family. With the Covid-19 restrictions on travel and business, many families in the rural villages are in need of basic food supplies. Ajaan Goi and Rob have partnered with Family Connection Foundation and have been delivering food packs for the last year. Goi is in need of a good used 4×4 truck in order to continue his ministry to the many families in northern Thailand in need of food and basic necessities.
We are seeking the Lord for $25,000 that will cover 1.5 years of living expenses for Goi’s family, seminary costs, and a used 4×4 truck to continue food deliveries to remote villages. This would free Ajaan Goi to care well for his family, continue to serve the Creator Church and surrounding villages, and allow him to complete his seminary studies without adding additional time.
We are praying the Lord would burden the hearts of many followers of Jesus for Ajaan Goi and his family, being motivated to help support him as he draws near to the completion of his Biblical studies.
