Job creation and vocational training are long term solutions to breaking the cycle of poverty and restoring dignity to people in disadvantaged communities. Sam and Anna Danforth worked with local leadership in KwaZulu Natal, South Africa to determine the needs of their community before establishing Titus Auto Centre in 2017.
KwaZulu Natal suffers a 50% unemployment rate and has a great need for job skills training. Titus Auto Centre uses the Business As Mission model to create jobs for mechanics, provide vocational training for aspiring mechanics, as well as to expose staff to the gospel message. Titus is recognized by the South African government as an accredited training facility.
South Africa experienced one of the strictest lockdowns worldwide in response to COVID, and many businesses have not survived the economic impact. Titus Auto Centre has also been greatly impacted by lockdown. We are excited to launch a fundraising campaign as we recover this ministry which is meeting very real spiritual and physical needs in KwaZulu Natal! We are also excited to share that a donor has committed up to a $50,000 matching pledge to funds raised!
