For more than forty years, Helps Ministries has been partnering with the global Church to build ministries, serve field workers, and defend the vulnerable for God’s kingdom purposes worldwide. In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, Helps Ministries is committed to providing the best possible service while helping our home office missionaries and employees stay safe.
In the midst of this pandemic, God’s word reminds us that He alone is supreme: Colossians 1:15-23 tells us that Christ is in control, that He existed before anything was created, and is supreme over all creation! This pandemic did not take God by surprise, but rather He knew this was going to happen and is in complete control. How will we as Christians respond to this pandemic? I pray that we will not live in fear, but rather that we rise up as Christians and show God’s unfailing love to those around us. 2 Timothy 1:7 reminds us that God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity but rather a spirit of power, love, and self-discipline (or a sound mind). Don’t let the worries of this world paralyze you with fear, but rather be ready to help those in need and to share God’s unfailing love to those around you!
Our local and state governments have issued a ‘Stay Home – Stay Safe’ declaration for all residents and employees. This declaration is in place until May 8th. In accordance with the declaration, we are only allowed to maintain minimum basic operations – these operations include necessary activities to maintain the value of the business’s inventory, preserve the condition of the business’s physical plant and equipment, ensure security, process payroll and employee benefits, or for related functions, and for activities to facilitate employees of the business being able to continue work remotely from their residences.
What does this mean for Helps Ministries? We will be discontinuing all activities from the home office except for essential administrative, accounting, payroll, and printing (prayer letter) services. While limited personnel are allowed to go to the Home Office on a minimal basis, all others are being asked to work from home during this time. At this time, the best way to reach a member of our team is by email.
Please let us know how we can be praying for you during this challenging time. Please be praying for our home office team as most are now working from home, or even sheltering in place in other locations. We will keep you posted with important updates concerning COVID-19 and Helps Ministries as they become available.
